Hazel joined Erevena as a Partner in early 2020. She focuses on investment and non-investment leadership roles for venture capital and private equity funds.
Previously she was Principal and Head of Talent at Oxford Sciences Enterprises (Oxford Sciences, formerly OSI), a £615m fund backed by the likes of Google, Tencent and Sequoia which invests in technology and science spin outs with IP from Oxford University. Hazel worked with academic founders and entrepreneurs-in-residence to build founding teams, and advised existing portfolio companies on their executive hiring. She made a number of leadership and board appointments to Oxford Sciences at a fund level, and built out an advisor and non-executive network.
Prior to this, Hazel worked at Dore Partnership, where she focused on Chief Data, Technology and Product searches for Hedge Funds and Financial Technology companies, such as Citadel.
Hazel started her career at Kea Consultants, a boutique search firm focused on Venture Capital, Growth and Private Equity funds (and the broader Alternative Asset Space). As Director and Head of High Growth Hazel led searches for leading technology funds such as Index, General Atlantic, Providence, TPG, as well as working with early-stage start-ups on leadership hiring.
She is from Dublin and holds an MA(Hons) from Trinity College Dublin. She was a delegate of the Irish Global Economic Forum and was one of the Irish Independent’s 30 under 30 shaping Ireland’s future in 2014.
