Soldo was launched in 2015 with a vision of creating a payment transaction product that provided businesses process optimisation, linking business legacy IT systems at one end and card payments at the other. Soldo allows companies to control the flow of money by integrating their platform into the organisation across employees and departments. This enables allocation of spending budgets and the imposing rules on how funds can be spent, whilst processing payments in real time. They have had success across UK and Europe.
Soldo had closed a Series C funding round including Temasek, Battery Ventures, Dawn, Advent International and Citi Ventures among others. Following on from a previous successful placement by Erevena of a CFO and Director Product Marketing, Soldo approached Erevena to identify a VP Growth to lead the GTM aspects of the SMB segment of the business.
The role was to be focused on leading strategic initiatives across online acquisition, conversion optimisation and customer growth with the goal of maximising conversion at each stage of the funnel through initiatives to improve the sign-up flow, from self-service registration to transacting accounts.
The successful candidate would need to bring prior experience within a SaaS business with a strong track record in growing the SMB vertical and have extensive knowledge of building a high velocity sales engine (with a specialism in a self-service model) to grow revenue from existing customers and increase the volume of card transactions per account.
Erevena identified Pedro Pinto, GM and Head of Growth at Neat (since acquired by Rapyd), and formerly Head of Business Growth at Revolut, as being the ideal candidate for Soldo’s next phase of expansion. Coming from an exceptional background of high growth, SMB focussed businesses, Pedro brought an ideal combination of experience; blending commercial strategy, team leadership ability and proven track record in executing on performance, conversion and re-engagement marketing efforts.
