Localyze is an all-in-one SaaS platform that makes it easy to manage a business’s global mobility needs in one place. By streamlining the migration process from visa application to housing, Localyze supports employers with any type of global mobility challenge. The business was founded in Hamburg in 2018 by an all-female founding team and has since expanded to over 100 FTEs globally with offices in Hamburg, Berlin, and Porto. Part of the Y-Combinator class of 2019, they raised a $2.1m seed funding in 2020 led by Frontline Ventures, followed by a $12m Series A in June 2021 led by Blossom Capital and, more recently, a $35m Series B led by General Catalyst. Customers include Free Now, Trade Republic, Babbel, Thoughtworks, Tier Mobility, DeepL, Forto and Personio.

Search Background

Localyze has quickly gained a significant foothold in the European market and, fresh off the back of the series B raise, Hanna Asmussen (CEO) partnered with Erevena to identify a strong VP Global Sales. Alongside her Co-Founders and Board, she was seeking an experienced exec to help drive continued revenue growth in the EMEA market as well as accelerate expansion into North America. Inheriting a globally distributed sales team, the VP Global Sales would be responsible for building and leading the go-to-market teams across all geographies over the coming years, whilst setting a global revenue strategy to significantly expand Localyze’s market share and solidify their position as a leader in the global mobility industry.


It was imperative the successful candidate had demonstrable scale-up experience in top tier SaaS companies. Given the global remit of the role, the person needed proven international experience and strong empathy for business norms in North America as well as EMEA. The ideal candidate would have a modern, data-driven, and analytical approach to developing enterprise go-to-market strategies and boast a brilliant track-record of success. In addition (and of vital importance), the successful candidate needed to be a strong culture and values fit for Localyze.


Erevena identified and introduced Richard Campbell, who joins from MURAL (a series C, San Francisco-based collaboration SaaS business), where he served as VP Sales for EMEA. Prior to MURAL, he was fundamental in the growth of Datadog’s European business over a 4 year period and has an enviable background at Qualtrics and Oracle before this. Richard has extensive experience driving aggressive growth in some of the most successful SaaS companies of the past decade.
