Search Background
After Anthropic and Erevena’s appointment of Chris Ciauri as Managing Director of International, focus turned towards expanding Anthropic’s reach in EMEA. With a strong existing base in the US, the strategy centred on three priority regions EMEA: UKI/North, South, and DACH/CEE.
Anthropic needed three of Europe’s leading enterprise sales leaders to own their go-to-market strategy and execution across these regions. Each would be responsible for building and leading high-performing enterprise sales organisations, while shaping how frontier technology is positioned and adopted by major enterprises across their respective regions.
Requirements
The successful candidates needed to have deep experience building teams that sell transformation to CEOs and boards of major enterprises. They must have the ability to develop strong partnerships with existing cloud providers, collaborate closely with Product on enterprise requirements, and work cross-functionally to align with global strategy. Importantly, they had to have built and scaled enterprise sales organisations from early stage to significant revenue in order to operate at Anthropic’s current and projected scale.
Result
Erevena conducted a targeted search for the top enterprise sales leaders in each region, and successfully placed Roman Howe as Head of DACH and CEE, Thomas Remy as Head of Southern EMEA, and Pip White as Head of UK&I and Northern Europe.
Roman brings over 20 years of experience building and scaling technology teams in DACH and across EMEA. His commercial career began at IBM, before progressing through the leadership ranks at Salesforce and most recently CRO at FactFinder. Roman brings the large- and smaller-scale experience vital for expanding Anthropic’s footprint in the Central EMEA region.
Thomas spent 11 years at Google Cloud building their Data Analytics and AI GTM team and strategy across EMEA. He joined at employee #15 in the region, holding multiple leadership positions over his tenure. Thomas thrives in high-growth environments where he can create and build successful teams from the ground up, which made him a clear frontrunner in the search for a Southern EMEA lead.
Pip is a seasoned global executive with 25 years of experience leading teams at enterprise giants such as Salesforce, Google, and HPE. Most recently, she led global sales operations at The Access Group. Prior to that, she played a key role in integrating Slack post-acquisition and unlocking new revenue streams across the region. Her experience at Anthropic’s projected scale instilled confidence from the outset.
