Veeam have always pushed innovation in the industry and have been the market leader in Europe for many years. In 2020, Veeam was acquired by Insight Partners in order to bolster their expansion into new markets, and double down in North America. This capital injection will help Veeam to continue their aggressive growth trajectory and scale into a multi-billion revenue business.

Since the acquisition, Veeam has successfully executed a number of operational changes, including: relocating their HQ to Columbus, Ohio and restructuring their executive leadership team bringing in more North American talent. Despite this geographical shift, the majority of Veeam’s business remains European based and Erevena were asked to appoint a senior leader to spearhead their marketing function in region. Leveraging our extensive network and current market knowledge, we were trusted with finding a phenomenal individual to join their winning team.
Requirements
As the most senior marketing leader in EMEA, this leader will be directly responsible for all field marketing and demand generation, but also have strong dotted line influence over the rest of the marketing sub-domains. They will inherit a significant European team and oversee further expansion in Western Europe. The ideal background would include having devised a comprehensive global marketing strategy which not only builds out market presence but complements GTM strategy in order to have the greatest possible impact on revenue generation. Moreover, this person would have led international field and demand generation teams, giving them an appreciation for how to not only create pipeline but also to harmonize the overall marketing-sales relationship.
Result
We successfully introduced Kathleen de Bondt, previously VP Marketing EMEA at Citrix. At Citrix, Kathleen led a team of over 50 marketeers across EMEA, and was responsible for the strategic direction of the region, with a focus on pipeline generation. Kathleen has held global and EMEA-based roles for multi-billion-dollar US headquartered business and as such deeply appreciates how to operate and collaborate on this scale. Prior to Citrix, Kathleen held various senior marketing positions at Riverbed Technologies and Dell EMC, giving her the full breadth of marketing experience.
