Search Background

Talkwalker have been growing with excellent traction across numerous markets and regions and this growth meant they identified the need to hire a Global Sales Development Lead. The primary objective was to restructure the Sales Development Reps (SDR) team, implementing a single, centralised model of SDR’s on a global basis, providing leadership, training, and metrics to create a high performance SDR team, who could also support their development into Enterprise level accounts.


The chosen candidate must have demonstrated experience developing and directing high-performance SDR teams across multiple geographies, as well as the capacity to strategically create a centralised SDR function from their existing distributed model. The ideal profile would have prior experience working in a high-growth B2B technology company, where they were able to create and implement various structures and procedures to support and allow their Sales Development Reps in outbound lead generation and inbound lead validation.


As part of our global shortlist, which covered candidates in the US as well as the UK. Talkwalker’s chosen candidate was Illango Dhandayudham, who had extensive expertise working in high-growth technology companies and had previously established and scaled a global Sales Development role at ComplianceQuest, CenturyLink, and Level 3 Communications. Illango, who began his career as an SDR, has a strong understanding and hands-on experience growing and redefining existing SDR teams as well as establishing new SDR operations, all ideal experience for this role. Talkwalker were blown away by his energising attitude and ability to drive performance and produce outcomes.
