Spendesk was founded in 2016 with the vision that business spending and reporting doesn’t need to be a complicated and administratively cumbersome task. The business provide an all-in-one solution to manage every part of the spending process with physical and virtual cards, smart approval workflows, automated expense reports, and accounting software integrations.
Spendesk had closed a Series C funding round led by General Atlantic with participation from previous investors, Index Ventures, Eight Road Ventures, eFounders, and Tinyclues. The business approached Erevena to identify a Global Head of Product Marketing to focus on Spendesk’s continued growth as they look to expand across Europe and establish its presence in North America. The role was to be acting as the lynchpin between sales, marketing, customer success and product management and focussed on roadmapping and driving product awareness and adoption.
The successful candidate needed to have a strong track record in B2B Product marketing with experience of building and leading a team. The ideal candidate would have deep knowledge of defining product positioning, messaging, pricing and experience of running product launches in new markets. As Spendesk are Paris headquartered, it would be highly advantageous if the candidate was a French speaker.
Erevena identified and introduced Ignacio Ros to Spendesk. He joined from Skyscanner where he was Head of B2B Global Product Marketing and led a team of product marketeers working across 35 different markets. Prior he was with Elastic where he was the first Partner Marketing lead and held responsibility for designing and implementing GTM plans for EMEA expansion. Ignacio has a very strong background in strategic B2B marketing and particularly impressed with his people management abilities, a key criteria for Spendesk.
