Over the next three years, Baobab’s Technology department is set to undergo significant expansion. The aim is to enhance the organization and fortify the Technology team to effectively address challenges and bolster support for ongoing transformations, including the digital transformation program and core banking system migration projects.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of scaling technology teams and roadmaps across the African Continent, working at scale. This person will have served as a vital business partner to establish Technology as a key enabler within a PE backed environment before, aligning technology initiatives with the organization’s overarching business goals. They will also have demonstrable experience of driving ongoing technology enhancements in technology to bolster business development and to facilitate process transformation, while also elevating technology processes and organizational structures to the highest standards, instilling efficiency and predictability in the way Technology is  managed and operated across an organization.

Erevena identified and introduced Thibaud Rérolle to the business who has a significant track record of scaling high-quality technology/engineering teams across Europe and Africa. Thibaud most notable helped to scale Safaricom into on of East Africa’s most successful public telecom operators with a $1bn+ market cap, based in Kenya, before then leading the digital transformation for M-Pesa across the Continent.
