Copper was launched in 2017 with a vision of providing an impressive platform for how institutional investors engage with digital assets, including market leading infrastructure in addition to custody, trading and prime brokerage solutions. Working with a range of financial institutions including funds trading firms, payment processors, neobanks, investment platforms and exchanges, Copper provides everything from custody, margin lending, collateral management, yield generation, savings and proxy wallet infrastructure.
Copper had closed a Series B funding round led by Dawn Capital, Target Global and Alan Howard and approached Erevena Growth to identify a Head of Enterprise Sales to work with Boris (CRO). The role was to be focused on assessing current business go-to-market and building a world class Enterprise sales function. This included defining market opportunity, customer segmentation, performance models and driving sales from qualification to execution with continuation of hiring a sales team.
The successful candidate needed to have a strong commercial track record in building from the ground up as well as managing an excellent commercial function. The ideal candidate would have had previous traction with, and deep knowledge of tier one financial institutions and the technical ability to liaise with different stakeholders, both internally and externally on an international scale; developing and driving a scalable and repeatable sales process.
Erevena identified and introduced Juergen Hofbauer to Copper. He joined from DS, where he joined just prior to the merger with Raisin and led B2B Business Development across Europe. Prior to this he spent over 14 years with Bank of America primarily within fixed income sales and latterly leading a high performing sales team of 14 within Global Transaction Services covering EMEA. Juergen has a very strong background in Financial Services and particularly impressed with his knowledge of the enterprise client base and application for Copper’s technology.
